Algae.Tec signs deal for major Australian co-located CO2 algae project

In Australia, Algae.Tec has signed an agreement with Macquarie Generation to build an algae production facility co-located at Macquarie’s 2,640 MW Bayswater power station in the Hunter Valley, north of Sydney. Algae.Tec will use the CO2 emitted from the power station to produce algae in a carbon capture deal. Phase 1 of the project will capture 270,000 tons of the facility’s CO2, ramping up to 1.3 million tons in a few years.
