Brazilian ethanol sales and exports up despite rain-delayed harvest

July 10, 2013 |

In Brazil, rains that have delayed the sugarcane harvest haven’t impacted ethanol sales, which reached 1.04 billion liters during the second half of June, up 28% on the year. Production during the period reached 1.48 billion liters, of which 851 million liters were hydrous and the rest anhydrous. Higher domestic sales and exports supported the increase in sales. Domestic sales were up at 850 million liters compared to the 721 million liters sold into the market during the same period last year.
