Iowa city looking to bring in both Fiberight and Plasma Power for W2E

July 10, 2013 |

In Iowa, Marion City Council is in talks with Fiberight about building a waste-to-ethanol plant at a potential 50,000 square-foot supply site. The city has been requested to supply a letter of support for Fiberight’s $5.7 million grant application from the state’s Solid Waste Alternatives Program to build the facility. The company in turn would put in $17 million to cover the rest of the capex. The city is also in talks with Plasma Power to build a nearby waste-to-energy facility and believes the two projects to be complimentary.
