In Belgium, the European Commission must decide by August 10 if it will impose further duties on Indonesian and Argentine biodiesel imports. The EC has the right to do so if it feels that producers received unfair subsidies at home. The European Biodiesel Board feels that the 9.6% and 6.8%-10.6% levies, respectively, aren’t enough to stop the influx of imports. Argentine biodiesel exports, at least, have collapsed so far as a result.
