Biofuels Digest Index gains to 73.49 as chemical equities advance

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, gained 0.48 percent to 73.49 as chemical equities advanced. For the day, Metabolix (MBLX) soared 11.72 percent to $1.62, while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) rallied 11.59 percent to $4.62. Among other equities, Verenium (VRNM) tumbled 6.28 percent to $2.24. Overall, declines led advances 9 to 7 for the day.
