Unsold tanker of Brazilian ethanol headed to Europe

July 31, 2013 |

In Brazil, Platts reports that a tanker is expected to load up to 13,000 cubic meter of ethanol in Santos for delivery in Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp in September. It is expected the shipment is unsold with purchase to take place before it arrives, due to current arbitrage prices that would need the fuel to be at $570/cu or less. Currently prices are at $600/cu, the lowest in three years.
