Whistler looking to use waste for biofuel production instead of topsoil

In Canada, the city of Whistler is looking to invest $1.7 million that would convert the city’s composting facility, that currently produces topsoil, to produce biofuels instead. The business case is currently being developed, but a potential local market for the biofuel has already been identified: the cement industry has already moved to convert to biofuel for their operations and has indicated interest in using fuel produced at the future site.
