Oil industry already trying to pressure EPA into lowering 2014 RFS

In Washington, the American Petroleum Institute has already filed a petition with the EPA to waive the 2014 RFS blending requirements, claiming the 10% blend wall will keep refiners from achieving ethanol mandates next year. The EPA has said it will lower the mandate level for next year but didn’t say by how much, so the API wants to pressure the agency to decide now.
