Improved ethanol margins boost German production three-fold in June

In Germany, ethanol production in June tripled on the year at 110 million liters, up from just 31.6 million liters the year before, and well above the 66.5 million liters produced in May. Falling grain prices means increased margins for ethanol producers, with about 60% of June’s production coming from cereals with nearly the rest coming from sugarbeet.
