Indian Railways to begin jatropha biodiesel field tests for locomotives

In India, Indian Railways’ research arm has approved field trials using jatropha-based biodiesel in two locomotives in Jetalsar. The three to four month trials will start with B10 and will work their way higher. Lab tests have been successful using 100% jatropha biodiesel in locomotives.
