Mothballed Kansas ethanol plant in start-up phase

In Kansas, the ethanol plant that laid idle in Pratt for more than five years is in the start-up phases for coming back online. Though it will take another few weeks before ethanol production begins, DDGS has already been produced. When running at capacity, the facility will produce 160,000 gallons of ethanol per day, mostly from local grains but some will have to be brought in during early stages.
