Darling International acquires Vion Ingredients for biodiesel feedstock

In Texas, Darling International is acquiring Vion Ingredients, a Dutch renderer, in a $2.2 billion deal to expand their supply of possible biodiesel feedstocks. Vion’s network of 58 rendering facilities worldwide is added to Darling’s subsidiaries after they announced their acquisition of a Canadian renderer last week. The deal could close as early as January.
