Sofiproteol to invest $10.8 million to convert abattoir into biodiesel plant

In France, Sofiproteol is converting its animal abattoir in Venette to produce 80,000 metric tons of biodiesel annually. The $10.8 million conversion will be online in 2015. It will also use waste oils as feedstock in additional to animal fats. The investment is being done jointly with Belgian company Electrawinds.
