Molasses supply enough to produce one-third of Ukrainian demand

October 17, 2013 |

In Ukraine, current molasses production is enough to produce a third of the country’s ethanol demand. Out of the roughly 500,000 metric tons of molasses expected to be produced this season, that would equate to roughly 100,000 tons of ethanol. In order to achieve the country’s ethanol demand, corn-based ethanol is expected to be a good option but there are currently no corn ethanol plants in the country.
