VA medical center in Houston to produce nearly 12MW of biodiesel power

In Texas, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston will soon be home to a 3MW CHP system powered by biodiesel or natural gas as part of a 12MW power plant expansion that will include several biodiesel-only gensets. The power provided by the system to sold onto the grid, off-setting the VA center’s actual consumption with renewable energy.
