Palm oil prices could soar depending on Indonesian production

In Malaysia, palm oil prices over the next six months will hinge on Indonesia’s production but prices could foreseeably reach as high as $872 per metric ton. That’s more than 25% higher than closely-watched analyst Dorab Mistry’s previous estimate. Rising prices would likely lead to a fall in demand, pulling the floor out of prices during the latter half of 2014, he said.
