D4 RINs fall to record low

November 20, 2013 |

In Illinois, D4 RINs for biodiesel fell to a record low of 23 cents each on Tuesday because of too much supply. The new RFS blending targets for biodiesel is only 1.28 billion gallons, well below the 1.39 billion gallons produced through October. As such, there’s almost no demand for biodiesel RINs for the rest of the year. Platts only began tracking D4 prices in January.
