New biodiesel producer takes over in Odessa, Wash.

November 25, 2013 |

In Washington state, TransMessis Columbia Plateau has leased the biodiesel plant in Odessa previously owned by Inland Empire Oilseeds and hopes to be online before the end of the year. The facility will use canola as feedstock, though it isn’t grown locally yet due to the need for irrigation. The new operators, who have an option to buy the facility, plan to use more than 50,000 tons of canola in 2014.
