Top bank funds Indonesia’s palm oil industry with $4.4 billion through October

In Indonesia, the country’s largest lender by assets has lent $4.4 billion to the palm oil sector in 2013 through October, with expectation for more lending opportunities next year. Bank Mandiri’s palm oil investments are up 7.7% on the year. Less than 10% of the funds were dispersed to more than 137,000 farmers who represent more than a quarter of a million hectares of land.
