Tractebel to acquire Pirassununga sugar-cane waste to electricity power plant

In Brazil, Bloomberg reports that Tractebel Energia is planning on acquiring a 65.5MWe power plant, paying as much as $74 million. The article states that Tractebel may invest over $34 million to expand the plant’s capacity an additional 15MWe, for a total capacity of 80.5MWe. The plant is located in Pirassununga, and if Tractebel is successful, it will acquire in the neighborhood of $20.7 million in debt.
