Indian competition watchdog requests information from 18 mills over ethanol

In India, the country’s competition watchdog has sent notices to 18 sugar mills requesting information about their ethanol bids in recent ethanol tenders as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged price rigging during the tenders. The Competition Commission of India is also requesting information regarding all meetings and discussions among ethanol producers between December 2012 and March 2013 as part of the investigation.
