Ethanol shipments via rail taking twice as long due to bad weather

From the Midwest to the Northeast, ethanol shipments by both rail and truck have been severely delayed due to the extreme winter weather experienced in those parts of the country. Roughly 70% of the country’s ethanol is shipped by rail but rail transportation in areas affected by the weather are taking twice as long as normal. Even so, ethanol futures prices are still falling.
