Chinese B30 imports fall after import tax applied on Jan. 1

January 23, 2014 |

In China, imports of biodiesel mixed with gasoil are said to have fallen since the government imposed a tax of $155.51 per metric ton on imports the beginning of the year. The tax applies on imports blended with up to 30% biodiesel, but Singaporean traders expect imports of 31% to pick up. The 30% blends had been used for running agricultural machinery, and though 31% remains untested it is expected to operate just as well in those tractors.
