Farm Bill removes subsidies for rural blending pumps

In Washington, the Farm Bill contained a provision removing subsidies for biofuel blending pumps in rural areas. This provision, another in a series of struggles for ethanol industry beginning with the EPA rollbacks in November, represents a blow to the executive branch, which had aimed to help gasoline station owners install 10,000 blender pumps over the next five years. As the Senate is expected to vote on the same version of the bill early next week, it is likely that these subsidy cuts will stick.
