Spanish biodiesel plant up for auction by administrators for just 1 million euros

February 3, 2014 |

In Spain, the bankrupted biodiesel plant in Valdetorres is set to go up for auction for about a million euros, far from the 70 million euros invested to set up the facility that is still in practically virgin state. The government of Extremadura is shocked at the move and is hoping to be able to participate in the auction held by administrators so it can take over the facility. Some in the government have questioned the transparency of the auction, asking questions regarding its validity.
