Aventine to replace coal-fired boilers with natural gas

In Illinois, Aventine is replacing its two coal-fired boilers with natural gas which will reduce its sulfur emissions by 13,000 pounds per year and improve its overall GHG following EPA guidelines requiring the switch by 2016. The new boilers will be installed by May 19 and cost $3.1 million each with the total upgrade coming in at $12.5 million.
