DuPont and Story County partner for Farm Watch safety program

In Iowa, DuPont and the Story County Sheriff’s Office have partnered to develop the first Farm Watch program in Iowa to enhance security and safety of rural residents and farmers. The program will involve rural community citizens in an effort to prevent crime in areas surrounded by farms and large parcels of land. Farm Watch programs have been implemented in California and other states in a variety of community settings and can be initiated by citizens or police. DuPont has been working with the Story County Sheriff’s Office and regional emergency response organizations to develop appropriate security and safety programs for its $200 million cellulosic ethanol plant in Central Iowa.
