Reuters poll sees palm oil rising 14% this year

In Malaysia, a Reuters poll shows that traders expect palm oil prices to rise 14% this year to $808 per metric ton due to increasing demand for biodiesel. The mandates set by Indonesia and Malaysia to boost consumption of their domestic production are key drivers behind the increased demand supporting prices. Those two countries could absorb as much as 11% of domestic production.
