Indian sugar mills dismayed by low prices paid for ethanol

In India, the sugar mills association says the industry has been put in a precarious situation by the oil marketing companies who rejected 370 million liters of ethanol. The OMCs only purchased 250 million liters of ethanol at 44 rupees per liter, but had they been willing to pay up to 55 rupees, they could have secured 620 million liters.
