Biofuels Digest Index falls to 80.06 as ethanol drops sharply

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, fell 1.73 percent to 80.06 as ethanol dropped sharply. For the day, Solazyme (SZYM) surged 6.82 percent to $14.41 while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) plummeted 8.74 percent to $13.36. Among other equities, KiOR (KIOR) descended 9.03 percent to $1.31. Overall, declines led advances 3 to 1 for the day.
