Biofuel producers want government to boost ethanol and biodiesel blends

In Brazil, UNICA is pushing for the ethanol blend to go to 27.5% from the current 25%, which the industry association says is the only immediate way to support the sugar and ethanol industry. Biodiesel producers are pushing for B7, up from the current B5. Due to increased fuel consumption, the country’s gasoline deficit is seen at $2.5 billion this year while diesel’s deficit will reach $9 billion, according to the ANP.
