Ethanol’s premium over gasoline hits two-year high

In Illinois, the premium for ethanol over gasoline hit its highest level in two years on Monday with 13 cents dividing the two fuels. Ethanol futures for April delivery hit $2.988 per gallon, the highest premium seen since November 2011, while the “at the rack” price paid by blenders hit $3.447 per gallon, up more than 10 cents over Friday.
