50-year-old Finnish coal power plant set to get 100% biofuel makeover

In Finland, Turku region’s energy consortium TSE will convert its coal-fired power plant into a multi-feedstock facility running on 100% biomass and wood waste. The renovation of the 50-year-old power plan will cost upwards of a quarter of a billion euros and should be online by in late 2017, after construction starts next year.
