Epoch Biodiesel sues Florida for awarding tax credit to identity thieves

April 24, 2014 |

In Florida, Epoch Biodiesel sued the state of Florida in Leon County Court because the state granted imposters a tax credit of $1,250,174.59 but refused to grant the credit to the actual company when it applied. The company only discovered the case of identify theft when it attempted to apply for the tax credit but was told that one was already issued. About 75% of the total expenditures of the $1.7 million investment qualified for the tax credit.
