Brazilian hydrous ethanol prices hit lowest in five months

April 30, 2014 |

In Brazil, hydrous ethanol prices have fallen to their lowest level in five months at $645.50 per cubic meter, down 13% just in the past two weeks. With more than 50 mills offering hydrous ethanol for sale, the abundance of product available on the market has weighed on prices. The early part of the crush when hydrous ethanol production is favored, combined with high electricity prices that encourage mills to use the least amount of electricity possible—namely, hydrous ethanol—prices are likely to continue their downward trend for the near future.
