EIA says January year-on-year biodiesel production lower by almost half

In Washington, the Energy Information Agency reported that U.S. production of biodiesel was 70 million gallons in January 2014. Biodiesel production during January 2014 was about 65 million gallons lower than production in December 2013. Biodiesel production from the Midwest region (Petroleum Administration for Defense District 2) was 69 percent of the United States total. Production came from 89 biodiesel plants with capacity of 1.9 billion gallons per year.
