Philippines allows San Carlos Bioenergy to ship wastewater to sea

In the Philippines, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources will allow San Carlos Bioenergy to ship its wastewater to sea by barge during the next three months while it upgrades its wastewater treatment system to comply with standards. The DENR has been fining the company for air pollution associated with odors coming from its wastewater treatment ponds but the local governor says that fines are too small.
