Repreve Renewables sets up miscanthus growing deal for NC farmers

May 5, 2014 |

In North Carolina, farmers and landowners are participating in a unique program from Greensboro-based Repreve Renewables to grow giant miscanthus grass for renewable product solutions. This innovative program provides famers with an economic alternative for underutilized and marginal land.

The company developed a comprehensive solution for planting biomass at commercial scale, including solving the significant challenge of establishing rhizome-propagated crops.

“Repreve Renewables is committed to overcoming challenges of planting biomass crops on a large-scale basis,” the company said in a statement. “This year we are excited to bring the ACCU YIELD System to locations in North Carolina and throughout the United States to plant giant miscanthus grass for commercial biomass production.”
