May 12, 2014 |

In Indiana, Purdue University and the U.S. Navy are working to help the military use alternative energy sources. The recently signed agreement will encourage the use of renewable energy in both the Nave and U.S. Marine Corps. The project hopes to convert up to 50 percent of the Navy and Marine Corps energy needs to renewable sources by 2020, including biofuels, energy conservation and new technologies. In addition, petroleum use will be cut in half by 2015.
