In South Carolina, a pipeline pumping station owned by Kinder Morgan Energy Partners spilled fuel and asked nearby residents to shelter-in-place as a precaution. The pipeline, which continues from Louisiana to the Washington, D.C. area, transports approximately 600,000 barrels a day of gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and biodiesel. Kinder Morgan did not report how much fuel was spilled, but stated that the incident was contained within the Plantation Pipe Line Co. facility in Anderson, South Carolina.
