Central Minnesota Renewables gets $500,000 grant for butanol upgrade

In Minnesota, the state’s department of agriculture has given Central Minnesota Renewables a $500,000 grant under the NextGen Energy program for the final engineering work to convert the company’s 20 million gallon per year ethanol plant to n-butanol. Central Minnesota Ethanol Co-op agreed to sell the plant to Green Biologics of Gahanna, Ohio in December last year, with sale expected to be completed later this year.
