ADM seeking federal permission for CCS at Illinois ethanol plant

In Illinois, ADM is seeking federal permission to install a second carbon storage well at its ethanol plant in Decatur. The EPA is responsible for analyzing the permit to make sure that the captured CO2 that is then turned into a liquid when pressurized into the ground doesn’t get into the groundwater. A public hearing was held on Wednesday.
