In the Philippines, upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant at San Carlos Bionergy have already had a noticeable impact on the odor emanating from the lagoon. The quick turnaround is a result of increasing the amount of enzymes used to treat the water in the lagoon. Nearby residents had complained of the odor and had even launched an online petition to have the facility shut down.
