Internal combustion engine on the decline, says Navigant

In Colorado, less than half of the global light duty vehicle market (LDV) will be conventional internal combustion engines (ICE) by 2035, according to a new study from Navigant Research. The LDV market is changing rapidly through the adoption of vehicles with various levels of drivetrain electrification and vehicles that run entirely on alternative fuels as a result of rising fuel costs and environmental concerns. Today, the majority of LDVs in use are ICE vehicles, but hybrid, electric, and alternative fuel vehicles will continue to expand into the market.
