Vierol restarts Hopewell ethanol plant with 1 million gallons already produced

May 27, 2014 |

In Virginia, ethanol production has re-started at the former Osage Bio Energy plant in Hopewell. The facility has already produced a million gallons of ethanol since start-up. Vierol Bio Energy’s investor Future Capital Partners bought the plant for $13 million. The facility will benefit from state subsidies through 2017 but corn-based ethanol won’t qualify for the per gallon subsidy in 2016 and 2017.
