May 27, 2014 |

In Wisconsin, Center Ethanol Company has sued in local circuit court a subcontractor of the engineering firm it hired to build the ethanol plant in Sauget. The subcontractor, Cady Aquastore, was to provide the project with carbon steel coated and bolted tanks, but the facility has suffered “numerous leaks, rust, corrosion, metal loss to the tanks, damage to tank insulation and lining, and product contamination and loss, among other adverse results, interrupting business on a day-to-day basis, creating significant safety and operational hazards and resulting in substantial expenses to remedy the same” as a result of poor quality equipment.
