ACORE submits comments to DOE on biofuel pathways

June 2, 2014 |

In Washington, the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) announced that it has submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) which sought stakeholder input regarding the biofuel pathways that the DOE’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) has selected to guide its research and development (R &D) strategy in the near-term. The comments were compiled by a diverse coalition of industry stakeholders convened by ACORE.

Identifying biofuel R &D pathways is an essential first step in the path to developing cost competitive, clean, domestically produced renewable liquid transportation fuels.  Government-conducted early stage R &D leverages private sector research, development, deployment and demonstration. When coupled with market access and policy certainty, these innovations can help transform the transportation sector while creating new jobs, strengthening local economies, reducing dependence on foreign sources of energy and improving our environment.
