INVISTA and Eucodis Bioscience announce collaboration for industrial chemicals

In Kansas, INVISTA and Eucodis Bioscience have announced a collaboration for the screening and engineering of enzymes to further develop bio-derived processes for the production of industrial chemicals. INVISTA seeks to significantly improve the cost and availability of several chemicals and raw materials that are used to produce its current products via biotechnology, and hopes to capitalize on Eucodis’ enzyme discovery and engineering capabilities to assist in the development of new, bio-derived routes to industrial chemicals.

Eucodis is an Austrian biotechnology company with strong expertise in enzyme engineering and industrial enzyme development. INVISTA is one of the world’s largest integrated producers of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers. The company’s advantaged technologies for nylon, spandex and polyester are used to produce clothing, carpet, car parts and countless other everyday products.
