USDA doesn’t expect to sell sugar for ethanol production this year

In Washington, the USDA says it doesn’t expect to activate the Feedstock Flexibility Program this year, offering discounted sugar forfeited in exchange for commodity credit loans to ethanol producers for feedstock. The USDA held auctions for forfeited sugar four times during late 2013 where five ethanol plants purchased feedstock.
