Oil World sees record biodiesel production in 2014 but growth slowing

June 12, 2014 |

In Germany, Oil World expects global biodiesel production to hit a record 29.1 million tons this year, up 2 million tons from last year, but growth was smaller than the 2.9 ton increase seen over the previous year. Growth in use of palm oil for biodiesel means the feedstock represents about a third of global production. The biggest growth is seen coming from Brazil thanks to a higher blending mandate there.
